I enjoy working with employers, building a relationship over time and as a team- discussing issues early on -offers a chance to do things property, to use the Law to fix things rather than argue about historic disputes.

The sooner we speak the sooner I can pinpoint the issues and prepare legal argument and evidence. Just as importantly, it’s best to set down a good negotiating position at the outset and to see what the employee wants. People tend to be a lot more flexible if they are treated fairly. After the bruising stages of a tribunal case tempers tend to be more frayed and the cost of settling becomes higher.

I aim to get the necessary information together at the outset and where possible to share preparation with my clients. This manages legal costs and clients who have helped prepare tend to make better witnesses.
